Speeding Truck Turns Over, Crushing Driver
A 51-year-old Palmdale man was killed when he lost control of his speeding pickup truck near Lake Los Angeles, causing the vehicle to overturn, authorities said Sunday.
The victim, who was not identified until relatives could be notified, was crushed to death after being thrown partway out of truck, said California Highway Patrol Officer N.A. Vite. He was not wearing a seat belt, Vite said.
The accident occurred about 10 p.m. Saturday at Avenue P and 240th Street east of Lake Los Angeles, an unincorporated area near Palmdale.
