Iran’s Parliament condemned 186 U.S. congressmen for endorsing Iranian resistance groups and declared that their action will unleash unspecified “consequences.” Tehran Radio quoted Parliament Speaker Mahdi Karrubi as saying that “U.S. leaders will take the wish of overthrowing the Islamic Republic to their graves.” In a letter addressed to Secretary of State James A. Baker III, 121 Democrats and 65 Republicans last week warned the Administration against “continuing to speculate and hope for the miraculous emergence of moderates from within the present ruling clique” in Iran.
