Anti-Drug Patches

As we are fighting so desperately across our nation to end the horrors of drug use/abuse, the National Football League has decided to wield its power. Sure, sponsor the Super Bowl with the lightest and the biggest brand of alcohol (“drug”) but shame, shame on this team, wearing “Drug Use Is Life Abuse” patches on their sleeves without the consecration and blessing of the NFL!

No wonder our youth are confused. Glamorize the professionals who turn to drugs, censor the actions of those who want to help.

Somewhere, sometime, I keep hoping to read about a situation (in which) the political games will stop when lives are at stake and just once one of those almighty powerful lawmakers will say: “Rams, you didn’t go about this in the right way and per all our rules and regulations, we should not permit you to wear those patches, but we, too, want to see an end to drug abuse and this time we will support your effort. As a matter of fact, let’s encourage all our teams to do this.” But, I know, guys, give in to this one and who knows what is next, eh?
