Corona del Mar State Beach is the site today of the 28th annual Sandcastle and Sandsculpting Contest sponsored by the Newport Harbor Area Chamber of Commerce. More than 10,000 spectators are expected as professional sand sculptors, community clubs, schools, families and businesses compete for trophies in the contest, one of more than 35 events in the 10-day SeaFest celebration. Other events include the Wooden Boat Festival, the Tall Ships Festival and the Character Boat Parade.
