For the first time, the entire prime-time television schedule on ABC, CBS and NBC--66 hours--is debuting with closed-captions for the hearing impaired. By comparison, the National Captioning Institute says that in 1980 only 10 hours a week of close-captioned programming was available on ABC and NBC.
