Management May Bid for Giorgio
Michael Gould, president and chief executive of Avon Products’ prestige fragrance units, acknowledged Monday that he and his management team would be interested in buying Giorgio Beverly Hills.
“The management group would certainly like to be the owners of their own company,” he said in a brief telephone interview. “The group that’s there now should run the business.”
Earlier this month, Avon put Giorgio Beverly Hills, based in Santa Monica, and Parfums Stern up for sale. Gould said he has had talks with investors and expects formal bidding by his and other interested parties to begin “in the next few weeks.”
