Arafat Visiting Next Month, Japanese Say

TOKYO — Palestine Liberation Organization leader Yasser Arafat will visit Japan Oct. 1-4 for talks with Prime Minister Toshiki Kaifu and other leaders on peace in the Middle East, the Foreign Ministry announced Monday.
The ministry said Arafat was invited in line with Japan’s policy of playing an active role to restore peace in the region through dialogue with both the Arab world and Israel.
