Ovation magazine, the slick and glossy magazine devoted to classical music, won’t be coming in the mail this month. When the October issue was ready to go to press last week, a financing package failed to come through and publication was stopped. Bryn Jones, Ovation’s publisher, is working to put new financing together and “get the the magazine back on track.” Jones said that “Ovation is not dying out,” and he’s confident the magazine will resume publication, possibly by combining the October and November issues. The fate of the Ovation Awards, set for Oct. 26 in Carnegie Hall to honor distinction in classical music, is unknown.
