Investigation of Mayor Bradley
Does Tom Bradley really think the general public is so naive as to believe his explanation of his calling the city treasurer’s office regarding Far East Bank’s city deposits? In his televised speech, he said that he had heard from Far East that the city was withdrawing its deposits from all banks, and that he was concerned that the city was in financial trouble--and thus called the treasurer’s office. The idea of such a “bank rush” by the city is completely preposterous, and Mayor Bradley’s tender of this excuse is an insult to the intelligence of the people of Los Angeles.
The city attorney found a lack of evidence to substantiate criminal charges “beyond a shadow of a doubt,” but the only shadows I see are those intentionally cast by Bradley and staff in an attempt to hide the truth.
