Who’s Hot
* Torrance fullback Tony DaCosta, a 6-3, 210-pound senior, rushed 17 times for 229 yards and three touchdowns, including an 89-yard run, to help Torrance (2-0) match its win total of 1988 with a 41-30 victory over Redondo. He also kicked a 34-yard field goal.
* West Torrance’s versatile Josh Moore scored four touchdowns on a 40-yard interception return, a three-yard run, a 50-yard punt return and a four-yard pass reception to power the Warriors past El Segundo, 32-7.
* Defensive tackle Mike Kaighan had three of Bishop Montgomery’s eight sacks in a 10-0 win over North Torrance, the Knights’ first shutout since 1986.
* The Cal State Dominguez Hills women’s soccer team, ranked second in the nation, outscored opponents 21-1 in winning its first six games.
Who’s Not
* Inglewood’s football fortunes appear as bleak as ever after its 35-0 loss to Culver City. The Sentinels own an 11-game losing streak dating back to 1987 and have been outscored 56-0 in two games this season.
* El Segundo, which was 10-1 and the Santa Fe League champion last season, has been outscored 46-7 in two games and has lost three straight dating back to last year’s 30-7 playoff defeat to Agoura.
* The Loyola Marymount women’s volleyball team completed nonconference play with an 0-8 record, failing to win a game in each match. Four losses were to ranked opponents.
* Redondo has given up 76 points in losing its first two football games to Rolling Hills and Torrance.
