Birmingham 34, University 9--Danny Larson threw three touchdown passes--two to Anthony McComb--to lead host Birmingham.
Larson completed 10 of 22 for 136 yards and had one interception. He also rushed for 67 yards in nine carries as Birmingham outgained University, 323 yards to 219.
Darrell Moore rushed for a game-high 90 yards in 10 carries, including a four-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Moore was also the game’s leading receiver with four catches for 61 yards.
Carlos Fernandez scored Birmingham’s final touchdown on a two-yard fourth-quarter run.
