Anderson Scores Three Goals to Lead Edmonton to 7-1 Victory Over Kings
EDMONTON, Canada — Glenn Anderson batted a puck out of the air with 16 seconds left for his third goal of the night in the Edmonton Oilers’ 7-1 exhibition victory over the Kings Friday night.
Rookie Robb Stauber was in goal for the Kings for the second time in this exhibition season. His record dropped to 0-2 as the Kings’ record fell to 1-2-2.
Mike Krushelnyski scored the Kings’ only goal, a short-handed shot that he fired from the base of the left circle to tie the game at 1-1 in the first period.
King Notes
Larry Robinson and Dave Taylor have been named alternate captains . . .Marty McSorley sat out Friday night’s game because of a sore back . . .Wayne Gretzky skipped the game against the Oilers and is expected to miss the games at Winnipeg tonight and at Calgary Sunday . . . .The Kings scheduled 11 exhibition games, but the players’ association has a rule limiting players to eight.
