Fullerton : Electricity at 100 Homes Is Shut Off for 5 Hours
About 100 homes were without electrical power for about five hours Sunday while Southern California Edison Co. workers repaired failed underground lines, a spokeswoman for the utility said.
Edison began receiving complaints of low voltage about 6:30 a.m. and traced the problem to an underground vault serving an area northeast of Chapman and Raymond avenues, spokeswoman Melanie Savage said.
The area affected included Central Avenue, Grove Place, Riverside Drive, Nutwood Avenue and portions of Union Avenue, Savage said.
Recent rains probably leaked water into an underground vault, causing the short, Savage said.
Edison workmen shut down power to the affected area about 9 a.m. and repaired the damage, with power restored by about 2 p.m., she said.
