Anaheim : Church Seeks $2 Million for Expansion, Building
St. Boniface Catholic Church has launched a $2-million fund-raising drive to expand church property and enhance its existing facilities.
“Our window of opportunity is now,” said Father John Lenihan, pastor of the 5,000-family church. Otherwise, the church would face rising real estate, construction, labor and material costs, he said.
The parish plans to acquire land next to the church for playgrounds and additional parking, to refurbish the interior and improve air conditioning inside the church, to bring the school into conformity with building codes and to expand community outreach services.
Founded in 1860, the multicultural parish is the oldest in the county.
