Kings, Oilers in Forum Exhibition

The Kings will play the only home game of their exhibition tour at the Forum tonight against the Edmonton Oilers, a team that beat the Kings convincingly in an exhibition at Edmonton last week.

The Kings’ final practice game will be against the Winnipeg Jets Sunday at 7 p.m. in San Diego.

A long list of minor injuries forced Coach Tom Webster to keep the King roster at nearly 30 players throughout the exhibition season and has also kept him from establishing his lines as solidly as he had planned.

Wayne Gretzky’s line seems to be taking shape, though. Gretzky played again Thursday night with Mike Krushelnyski on his left wing and Mikael Lindholm, a player new to the Kings’ roster this season from Sweden, on his right wing.

Edmonton, which played St. Louis Friday night in Sacramento, will be without goaltender Grant Fuhr, who is recovering from an appendectomy.

Tonight’s game will be broadcast by KLAC (570) at 7:35.
