A light plane crashed on approach to Palm Springs Regional Airport, killing all four people on board, Federal Aviation Administration officials said. The single-engine Piper Aero went down on the west end of the airport. A witness said the wing appeared to tip during the landing, striking the runway. Al Smoot, the airport’s aviation director, said the cause of the crash was not immediately known. Names of the victims were not immediately available.
