One Drink Wins Turf Feature in Record Time

One Drink outfinished Haut Arandu to win Thursday’s $42,000 feature race at Santa Anita’s Oak Tree meeting by a neck before a crowd of 13,104.

One Drink, ridden by Dave Patton and carrying 114 pounds, covered one mile on the turf in the course-record time of 1:33 3/5 and paid $18, $7.80 and $5.20.

Fast-finishing Haut Arandu, ridden by Eddie Delahoussaye, was a head in front of Dramatis and returned $9 and $4.80.

Dramatis, who led in the stretch only to be passed in the late going, was a half-length ahead of Impossible Stream and paid $5 to show.
