Palmdale 35, Pasadena 19--La-Shante Parker ran for 161 yards and four touchdowns and the Falcons withstood a late Bulldog rally at Pasadena City College to record their first win.
Palmdale (1-4) scored the first 21 points--all in the second quarter--with Parker rushing for two- and one-yard touchdowns and Rodney Williams returning a punt 53 yards for another score.
Pasadena quarterback Stacey Townsend, who did not play in the first half because of disciplinary reasons, brought the Bulldogs (0-4-1) to within 28-13 with one minute remaining in the third quarter, hitting Jhayson Hall on a 17-yard touchdown pass. Hall had run six yards for a touchdown earlier in the third quarter.
Townsend (four of eight for 120 yards) also connected with Demetrio Jennings on a 33-yard fourth-quarter pass for the game’s final score.
Palmdale quarterback Joe Pica completed seven of 13 passes for 153 yards.
