Gated Community

In reply to “Gated Communities: False Sense of Safety?” (Sept. 27): Don’t you dare knock Leisure World and its security!

I’ve been attacked and kidnaped in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles, held at knifepoint in an apartment-gated garage, and followed for an attempted mugging in Pershing Square Garage.

Leisure World, with its walls, gates, guards and patrols, is heavenly. Walking from carport to manor late at night without fear is wonderful.

So, “thumbs up” for peace of mind and body in these so-called “Golden Years (78, going on 100).”
