THE SIDELINES : Steelers QB Brister Out 2-4 Weeks
PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Bubby Brister will be out two to four weeks with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee, team physician Thomas W. Cowan said today.
Brister, injured with 35 seconds left in Sunday’s 26-16 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals at Three Rivers Stadium, was released this morning from Divine Providence Hospital.
Brister complained of sharp pains between his left knee and ankle, but X-rays of his left leg revealed no fractures. Cowan plans to reexamine the knee Tuesday.
With Brister out, the Steelers will start backup Todd Blackledge in Sunday’s AFC Central Division game at Cleveland.
