Pomona : Six Administrator Finalists
The Pomona City Council has selected six finalists for interviews from 133 applicants for city administrator.
Mayor Donna Smith said the council will interview three finalists Nov. 10 and the other three the next day. Smith did not disclose the names of the candidates, but all are male and all live in California. Only one lives far enough away to require plane transportation to the interview, she said.
Smith said she would have preferred that the city appoint a screening committee to review the applications instead of having council members review the applications themselves. But, she said, the candidates who have emerged “look pretty good.”
The council fired A. J. Wilson as city administrator in May and an interim replacement quit in June after five weeks on the job. Fire Chief Tom Fee has been serving as interim city administrator but did not apply for the permanent position.
