BREA : Man Killed Crossing Busy Intersection
An unidentified man was struck and killed as he attempted to cross a busy intersection Tuesday night.
The incident occurred at 8:53 p.m. when the pedestrian, described as being in his 60s, walked across the intersection of Puente Street and Imperial Highway.
Brea police said that the man was struck by a 1986 Chevrolet Blazer driven by a Chino woman. Initial investigations revealed that the pedestrian did not observe a “don’t walk” signal, a Brea Police spokesman said.
The pedestrian suffered massive head injuries and was pronounced dead at UCI Medical Center in Orange.
Coroner’s officials are still attempting to determine the pedestrian’s identity. Brea police are continuing their investigations into the incident.
