TUSTIN : Co-Worker’s Truck Crushes, Kills Man
A 68-year-old Fullerton truck driver was crushed to death by a truck driven by a co-worker Wednesday, Tustin Police said.
Antoine Francis De Sutter was pronounced dead at United Western Medical Center-Santa Ana minutes after the 1 p.m. accident.
Police said both De Sutter and the driver of the truck were hauling debris from a county drain north of Edinger Avenue. The men were employed by L. Curti Trucking of Hawaiian Gardens, which contracted with Orange County.
De Sutter had just gotten out of his dump truck when he was struck by the vehicle, which was backing up, police said. “The other dump truck was traveling about 1 m.p.h., but De Sutter did not see or hear it coming,” a police spokeswoman said.
The incident is under investigation.
