Hubbard Runs, Passes Cypress to 13-0 Victory Over El Dorado
ANAHEIM — Bobby Hubbard passed for one touchdown and ran for another to lead Cypress High School to a 13-0 victory over El Dorado Friday in the Empire League opener for both teams at Western High School.
After a fumble recovery on the El Dorado 27-yard line by Richard Parsons, Cypress (3-3, 1-0) took seven plays before Hubbard scored on a one-yard run with 7 minutes 15 seconds left in the first half.
Hubbard, who completed 15 of 26 passes for 141 yards, connected on a 10-yard scoring pass to tight end Sean Gibson with three seconds remaining in the half.
Cypress held El Dorado (0-1, 0-6) to 54 yards in total offense.
Gibson caught six passes for 70 yards, and running back Brian Dawson had 49 yards in 15 carries to lead all rushers.
