Simi Couple Arrested; Marijuana Crop Seized
A Simi Valley couple was arrested Monday after police searching their residence seized marijuana plants and leaves with an estimated street value of $100,000, the Simi Valley Police Department reported.
Ernie Buttner, 38, and Susan Buttner, 39, were being held on suspicion of cultivation of marijuana and possession of marijuana for sale, Sgt. Andy McCluskey said. Officers searching a greenhouse at the couple’s residence in the 4700 block of Alamo Street found four 6-foot-tall marijuana plants and 10 to 15 pounds of low-grade marijuana leaves, McCluskey said.
They also found 25 pounds of high-grade marijuana buds on drying racks in a garage at the residence, he said. Simi Valley police were assisted in the operation by investigators from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, McCluskey said.
