NATION IN BRIEF : WASHINGTON STATE : Bargaining Resumes in Boeing Strike

Contract talks covering nearly 60,000 striking Boeing Co. workers resumed in Seattle for the first time since the walkout began but neither side expected a quick end to the 2-week-old strike against the aerospace giant. Federal mediator Doug Hammond said he had no idea how many days it would take to reach an agreement, nor how long the bargaining days would last. There have been growing reports of concern within Boeing about delayed aircraft deliveries. The firm has delivered seven planes during the strike.
