Antelope Valley Boy Slain; 12-Year-Old Held
A 10-year-old Antelope Valley boy was fatally shot in the head Sunday and sheriff’s deputies were holding a 12-year-old boy in connection with the death.
Thomas Hernandez was shot at 1:20 p.m. at 12537 East Avenue V-12 in the unincorporated area of Pearblossom, Deputy Dean Scoville said. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
It was unclear whose house the incident occurred at, but authorities said no adults were home at the time.
Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Wahla said detectives initially believed the shooting was an accident, but later began investigating it as a homicide. The 12-year-old boy was not identified because of his age.
No further details were available.
