Wolf Scores 32 Points, Smith Has 28 as Clippers Down Sacramento, 112-107
REDDING, Calif. — Joe Wolf scored 32 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Charles Smith had 28 points and seven rebounds Sunday, leading the Clippers to a 112-107 exhibition victory over the Sacramento Kings.
The Clippers (2-4) led, 76-75, entering the fourth quarter and stayed on top the rest of the way, but they didn’t clinch the victory until Carlton McKinney made a layup with three seconds remaining to complete the scoring.
The Clippers led, 103-95, late in the game, but the Kings outscored them, 12-7, before McKinney’s basket.
Ken Norman added 12 points and nine rebounds for the Clippers, and Gary Grant and McKinney had 10 points apiece. Grant also had a game-high 12 assists.
Danny Ainge led the Kings (1-4) with 30 points and eight assists. Harold Pressley had 19 points and nine rebounds for Sacramento.
Greg Stokes had 10 points and Rodney McCray had nine points and 11 rebounds for the Kings.
The Clippers led, 29-27, after one quarter and 60-51 at halftime. They outrebounded the Kings, 53-39.
