Fishel Leads Woodbridge Past Laguna Beach
IRVINE — Senior Gary Fishel threw a touchdown pass and ran for another score to lead Woodbridge High to a 31-22 Pacific Coast League victory over Laguna Beach Thursday night at Irvine Stadium.
Fishel completed 15 of 28 passes for 202 yards for the Warriors (1-2, 3-5). Woodbridge senior Scott Seymour, who also scored a touchdown, was the game’s leading rusher with 125 yards in 14 carries.
Laguna Beach (0-3, 0-8) took the lead when Sean Mallett, who had 57 yards in six carries, scored on a 46-yard first-quarter run.
But the Warriors scored 24 second-quarter points. Fishel hit Gary Gibson on a seven-yard scoring pass, Jake Jacobs scored on a 40-yard run and Seymour followed with 17-yard touchdown run.
