NATION IN BRIEF : VIRGINIA : Blaze Hits Home of Freed Mother’s Kin
From Times staff and wire service reports
A fire that investigators said may have been deliberately set damaged the suburban Fairfax County, Va., home of the missing parents of Elizabeth Morgan, the Washington doctor who was jailed for hiding her daughter, Hilary, in a child custody battle, authorities said. No one was in the house when the fire broke out, and there were no injuries. However, the fire did about $50,000 damage to the home, authorities said. The Morgan parents have not been seen since the summer of 1987, and the girl, who is 7, remains missing.
