WORLD : West Bank Schools to Close
JERUSALEM — Israel will close schools in the occupied West Bank for two months starting Nov. 13, the occupation authorities announced today.
The move means classes will be shut during the first anniversary of the Nov. 15 declaration of a Palestinian state and the second anniversary of the start of the uprising in the occupied territories Dec. 9. The head of the West Bank Civil Administration, Brig. Gen. Shaike Erez, said the current academic year, delayed by a prolonged closure of schools, will end Nov. 1 and the new school year will begin Jan. 10.
