Reuters Manager Breaks the News: He Has Resigned

LONDON — Michael Reupke, general manager of Reuters, the world news and information organization, has resigned to pursue other interests, Reuters Holdings PLC announced today.
Reupke, 52, joined Reuters in 1962 as a graduate trainee journalist and served in a wide range of editorial and management posts in Europe, Africa and Latin America. He was appointed editor in chief in 1978 and general manager in May of this year.
Reupke said: “I am leaving for very personal reasons, and I am certainly leaving with regret.”
