B of A Relocating Jobs: Bank of America said it plans to move up to 2,000 jobs in the next five years out of San Francisco to other parts of the Bay Area. Bank of America and other San Francisco-based banks have been relocating employees to suburban offices in the Bay Area over the past few years because of the rising costs of doing business in the city. Bank of America employs close to 10,000 people in San Francisco, down from as many as 18,000 in the early 1980s.
