The 10th annual Orange Tide Run/Roll/Walk-a-Thon to benefit the homeless will be held Saturday along a one-mile course on Skypark Circle South in Irvine. Registration for cycling events will start at 7 a.m., and sign-ups for running and walking events will be at 8 a.m.
All events are open to the public, and participants are requested to get pledges.
Orange Tide will kick off Homeless Awareness Week, scheduled by the County Board of Supervisors for Saturday through Friday. Sponsored by HomeAid, a program to assist Orange County’s “transitionally homeless” population, other events to be held this week include a public awareness campaign, donation displays at stores, libraries and new home sales offices in addition to new shelter construction and renovation.
All proceeds will go to HomeAid, a partnership of the Building Industry Assn./Orange County Region, the Orange County Board of Supervisors and the Orange County Homeless Issues Task Force.
