76ers Reportedly Sign Mahorn
Associated Press
PHILADELPHIA — Rick Mahorn, the forward-center who helped lead the Detroit Pistons to the championship last season, has come to terms with the Philadelphia 76ers, a source said Thursday night.
No details of the agreement were available. The 76ers scheduled a news conference for today but declined to specify the subject.
The 76ers received Mahorn from the Minnesota Timberwolves for a No. 1 draft pick in 1990 and No. 2 picks in 1991 and ’92.
Mahorn had demanded that the Timberwolves renegotiate his contract, which reportedly pays him $625,000 this season and $700,000 next.
