COLLEGE FOOTBALL ROUNDUP
In a Foothill Conference junior college game:
Desert 24, Antelope Valley 21--For the better part of the final quarter, it appeared that a stubborn Antelope Valley College defense might have just enough left to hold off conference co-leader Desert.
However, wide receiver Troy Strange’s 16-yard pass to Lee Harper with 2:40 left allowed Desert (6-2, 5-1) to prevail before a homecoming crowd at Antelope Valley.
The defeat left freshman-laden Antelope Valley (3-5-1, 2-4-1) with its first losing record since 1985.
