Family Planning Clinics Closed
Deukmejian’s decision to close family planning clinics as justified by the rising rate of teen-age pregnancy in California is like closing schools because the classrooms are too crowded. The conventional wisdom of the day seems to be to stop subsidizing services to the helpless and vulnerable, but to do everything to help the more powerful constituents. Where will all this inhumanity end?
