SHORT TAKES : Tim Conway Faces ‘Dorf’ Suit
“Dorf,” a lovable buffoon played by comedian Tim Conway, has played golf, witnessed the first Olympic Games, and gone auto racing.
Now Dorf is going to court.
A production company is suing comedian Tim Conway, who plays the 4-foot-tall Derk Dorf character on videos, over the distribution of the tape “Dorf Goes Auto Racing.”
J2 Communications Inc., which claims to have the Dorf distribution rights, alleges in a Superior Court suit filed in Los Angeles Wednesday that Conway wrongly intends to sell “Dorf Goes Auto Racing” through another company.
J2 Communications seeks unspecified general and punitive damages on various allegations, including breach of contract, breach of good faith and fair dealing, and fraud.
