ON THE SIDELINES : Ex-U.S. Hoopsters Star in Italy

MILAN, Italy — Former Boston Celtic guard Brian Shaw scored 32 points and Los Angeles Clippers draft pick Danny Ferry added 18 as Messagero Rome beat Arimo Bologna 90-69 today.
Ferry, picked second overall in last year’s NBA draft, and Shaw help Messagero, 3-5, to its second straight win.
In another game, Bob McAdoo scored 35 points as Philips Milan defeated Enimont Leghorn 90-87.
After eight weeks, Shaw, with a 25.5-point average, is sixth in the Italian league in scoring and Ferry, at 22.5, is ninth.
