WORLD IN BRIEF : MEXICO : 4 Court Nominees Rejected in Baja

The new legislature in the Mexican state of Baja California rejected four of the 13 Supreme Court judicial nominees proposed by newly inaugurated Gov. Ernesto Ruffo Appel, the newspaper La Jornada reported. Bernardo Borbon Vilches, president of the legislature and a member of Ruffo’s National Action Party, said the proposals were revised in private to avoid discrediting the nominees.
