Drive-By Shooting Injures Woman
SANTA ANA — A Santa Ana woman was being kept alive by life support systems Saturday morning after being shot in the head by someone in a passing car, police said.
Ygnacia Cisneros, 37, was shot about 11:30 p.m. Friday at 1200 S. Standard Ave. while traveling with an unidentified female cousin in a compact pickup driven by a 23-year-old male friend, Sgt. Dick Faust said.
An auto pulled up beside them on the driver’s side and someone fired at least twice into the cab, striking Cisneros, he said.
She was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, placed on life-support systems and listed in critical condition.
The shooting occurred after an argument in a bar and does not appear to be gang related, he said.
Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting, he said.
