Nation IN BRIEF : DELAWARE : Cocaine Seized on AF Plane; 2 Arrested
From Times staff and wire reports
Authorities seized 66 pounds of cocaine flown from Panama on an Air Force cargo plane and arrested a 13-year Army veteran and his brother, who were to pick up the drugs. The shipment, valued at about $3 million, had been monitored from the time it was placed aboard a C-5 cargo plane at Howard Air Force Base in Panama until its arrival at Dover Air Force Base. Officials would not say who placed the drugs aboard the plane or whether any members of the Air Force were suspected of being involved, or what kind of tip authorities received.
