CALIFORNIA IN BRIEF : SAN QUENTIN : Ramirez Is Moved to San Quentin

Convicted “Night Stalker” Richard Ramirez has been transferred to San Quentin, where he will become the 266th inmate awaiting the gas chamber on Death Row. The 29-year-old devil worshiper was flown by sheriff’s helicopter from Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles to Long Beach, where he boarded a small plane for Marin County. Prison spokesman Lt. Cal White said Ramirez will spend a week in an “orientation area.”
