Daniel Fletcher; Retired Judge of Superior Court
Retired Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Daniel Fletcher, a former Municipal Court justice and 15-year veteran of the district attorney’s office, died Tuesday in Pasadena where he had practiced law and served on the bench.
He was 70 and died of a stroke at his home, said his brother, Wesley Fletcher.
A graduate of USC and the Southwestern School of Law, Fletcher was a deputy district attorney from 1953 to 1966 before being elected to the Municipal Court bench in 1966. His father, Louis T. Fletcher, had held the seat before him. In 1971 then-Gov. Ronald Reagan named Daniel Fletcher to the Superior Court where he served in the Pasadena courthouse until retiring in 1987.
His survivors include his wife, Patricia, three daughters, his father, brother, a sister and seven grandchildren. Donations to the American Heart Assn. or the Arthritis Foundation are asked.
