HUNTINGTON BEACH : Plan to Add Parking to Be Considered
The City Council tonight will consider a possible addition to public parking areas at Civic Center.
Under discussion will be a proposal to option about seven-tenths of an acre of land at Lake and Yorktown streets, just south of Civic Center.
The proposal would allow the city to use the land for a parking lot for one year, during which time the city would also have the option to buy the site or swap land for it.
“The city has need of (an additional) parking lot for public parking and the vehicles of the city, its employees and guests,” City Administrator Paul Cook said.
The landowner, the Huntington Beach Co., would pave, light and landscape the site for about $250,000, Cook said.
