Real Earnings Rose 0.6% Last Month: The real average weekly earnings of American workers, after adjusting for inflation and seasonal factors, rose 0.6% in October from September’s revised 0.6% gain, according to a Labor Department report. The department previously said earnings in September gained 0.3% from the previous month. Compared to earnings in October, 1988, workers took home 0.4% less last month than they did a year ago after adjustment for inflation and seasonal factors.
