Kent C. (Oz) Nelson has been elected chairman and chief executive of United Parcel Service, which has headquarters in Greenwich, Conn. Nelson, 52, who had been vice chairman since February, succeeds John W. (Jack) Rogers. Rogers, the UPS chairman and CEO since 1984, will continue to serve as a director and chairman of the executive committee.
