Robert Levine, managing director of the Laventhol & Horwath’s San Francisco office, will succeed George Bernstein as chief executive June 1. Levine, 49, a lawyer and a certified public accountant, will begin a five-year term as head of the nation’s seventh-largest accounting firm. Bernstein, 57, the firm’s chief for the past 10 years, is leaving the post at the expiration of his second term. He will take a senior-level managerial position that has not yet been determined.
