Hawks’ Cunningham Sets Record in Loss
Senior Will Cunningham became Christian Heritage’s all-time leading scorer Wednesday in the Hawks’ 77-69 loss to Oakland University in Rochester, Mich.
Cunningham scored 15 points to raise his career total to 1,067, passing Bill Soucie’s 1,066 set from 1986-89.
Brad Soucie, Bill’s brother, scored 16 points for Christian Heritage (2-1), which was tied, 43-43, at halftime. Eric Taylor scored 24 points for Oakland (4-0), which outrebounded the Hawks, 52-30.

San Diego State placed third and U.S. International 10th among the 11 teams at the Bruin Desert Classic at Mission Hills Resort in Palm Desert. Stanford won the three-round tournament with a 860. SDSU had 871, USIU 913. Robert Warren of Pacific was top individual a 210. SDSU’s highest finishers were ninth-place Doug Karney (217 points) and 11th-place Dave Schnider (218). Craig Ballard (221) finished 19th for USIU.
