Kaiser Steel Settlement Crumbles: Kaiser Steel Resources Inc. announced Wednesday that a settlement in a bankruptcy court case in Denver had collapsed after the company did not receive title to 213 acres near Fontana. The former steel company planned to include the property in a 1,100-acre industrial park. Since investor Monty Rial, who controls the property through a partnership called Perma Pacific Properties, has rejected the settlement, Kaiser will ask the court to install a trustee for Perma Pacific, which is currently in bankruptcy proceedings.
